Here are the steps to use our Shopify Photo Resize app
Step 1 - Install the Photo Resize app
Click the “Install” button in our app listing. You'll automatically receive 50 free images to resize upon installation.
Step 2 - Set up your image size template
Upon installing the app, you'll be asked to select your preferred image settings. Here's a brief explanation of each setting.
First, choose your resize method: Add frame or Cropping.
Add Frame: This option adds borders/paddings around the image to achieve the desired ratio. It maintains the original image size, so you don’t lose any parts of the original content.
Cropping: This option directly resizes your images to the selected aspect ratio by 'cropping/cutting' the image canvas to meet your chosen aspect ratio. Note that this option could crop your products, depending on how much space it occupies.
Once you're done selecting the resizing method, choose your desired aspect ratio for your product images. You can select from 1:1, 2:3, or 4:3 aspect ratios.
Finally, you can edit the specific image settings by clicking the Pen icon at the top of the options.
With 'Add frame' resizing method, you can choose the color of the background that will use to add the padding as described above.
Step 3 - Click the 'Let's Start' button to start analyzing your store.
After clicking 'Let's Start' button, the app will start analyzing your store. This process is crucial because it determines which of your product images don't meet your image settings.
All the images that don't meet your image settings will be recommended for resizing.
Step 4 - Select images to resize
Once the app finishes analyzing, you'll be redirected to the Image Analysis page. This is where you can select images to resize.
The app automatically recommends all images that don't match your image setting for resizing. However, you can also use the Filter feature to select images to resize.
We recommend resizing all your photos to make them all consistent and uniform across your store.
Step 5 - Preview your selected images
We strongly recommend clicking the Preview button after you're done selecting images before you proceed with the actual resizing.
The app's Preview function allows you to visualize how your images will look in your store. No actual changes will be made during this step.
Step 6 - Resize your images
If you're happy with the images, click the Resize button. If this is your first time installing the app, you should still have 50 free images to resize. Otherwise, the app will direct you to the payment page, where you can choose which payment option suits you.
The Photo Resize app will start resizing and updating your store with the resized images. You can step away and even close the page while the app does this - we'll send you an email once the process is complete.
You can run the app in the background to resize your images automatically whenever you add new products or update current images.
You can restore your original files from the Settings tab. Note that Pay-as-you-go users only have 7 days to restore their original files.
